Okcupid Lesbian
I’ll confess: I’m a lesbian who loves, like really, truly, loves the dating site OkCupid. On OkCupid, I’ve embarked on one highly passionate affair, engaged in one serious year-long relationship, had about two to five sexy late-night hookups, and spent many a night solo in bed drinking tea whilst exchanging titillating banter via text message with cool, hot lesbians from all across America.
Parship and LoveScout24 also offer gay versions, and OkCupid is quite popular among the gay and lesbian community. There are, of course, dating sites and apps that exclusively focus on LGBTQ+ singles. Here are our top picks for the best dating app for gay and lesbian singles in Germany. I should say at the top that some of the sample sizes for the various race/gender slices presented here are rather small (for instance, OkCupid doesn’t have many lesbians of Indian descent), and that accounts, I think, for some of the scatter-shot nature of the color tables.
I prefer it over any other dating app because it seems to have less girls with boyfriends seeking threesomes with clueless dykes like myself. (Not that there is anything wrong with girls seeking Sapphic threesomes with their boyfriends. It’s just not really my thing as I get wildly competitive and territorial during threesomes. Oh, and I don’t sleep with men either. That too.)
My feels about OkCupid swelled to new heights when I came across this ad:
Not only does it feature two adorable hipster lesbians (we’re trying to figure out the symbolism behind the whole extra-set-of-hands-thing), they’ve reclaimed DTF. For those of you sweet young things who didn’t watch “Jersey Shore” (I don’t know if these Gen Z kids are privy to that bizarre era of MTV? Gen Z kids, tell us!) DTF stands for “Down To F*ck” and was coined by boardwalk bros with spiky hair and a thirst for spray tans. I’ve been waiting for DTF to be reclaimed for quite some time, as it has a really nice ring to it, don’t you think?
DTF in this instance stands for phrases like “DTFilter Out the Far Right” and “DTFoot The Bill.” The campaign which launched on January 2nd “empowers people to redefine the ‘F’ for themselves.” Other examples include: “DTFifty-Five Hour Binge” and “DTFall Head Over Heels.” This campaign also follows OkCupid’s groundbreaking “Trump Filter” (thank god) and Planned Parenthood partnership (swag).
The campaign will also be available as an in-app experience, where users have the opportunity to respond to over 3,000 questions that will hopefully help them connect with like-minded people (which I’m making staff-writer Dayna Troisi do and write about, ASAP).

According to OkCupid, “These ads are part of a larger movement OkCupid is leading to combat the status quo: a movement to elevate substance over selfies in dating app culture and empower users to really know someone. And with 22 genders and 13 sexual orientations available for every member setting up a profile, OkCupid is serious about attracting everyone to its service.”
